No Code and Low Code

Lovable vs Bolt.new: Which AI App Builder Should You Pick?

Lovable website

Lovable vs Bolt.new in short: both turn a plain-English prompt into a working web app, so the real difference is how you pay. Lovable charges in credits, with paid plans starting at $25 a month for 100 credits. Bolt.new charges in tokens, with a free plan and a $25 Pro plan that starts at 10 million tokens a month. If you want a generous free tier to test an idea, look at Bolt first. If you want a platform built around projects, workspaces and Git sync, look at Lovable.

This comparison sticks to what each company’s own pricing pages and documentation say, and makes no claim about output quality.

Lovable

Lovable describes itself as a full-stack AI development platform: you describe an app, and it generates the frontend, backend, database, authentication and integrations, backed by code you can edit. Each project is one app with its own chat, preview, code and version history, and projects live in shared workspaces.

What stands out in the documentation:

  • Git sync. Projects can sync to GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket, so the code can move into an existing engineering workflow.
  • Publishing. You can publish to a live URL, then deploy through your own pipeline if you prefer.
  • Chats. Separate conversations outside projects let you explore ideas and ask questions; when something needs building, the chat sends it to a project.
  • Governance. SSO, SCIM, audit logs, 2FA and sensitive-data scanning are listed.
  • Other surfaces. Desktop and mobile apps, Slack, Telegram and an MCP server.

Bolt.new

Bolt’s help centre says it builds “websites and apps, including marketing sites, portfolios, online stores, dashboards, and internal tools”. It also makes presentations with Bolt Slides.

Features the help centre describes:

  • Plan Mode. You discuss the idea with Bolt before it writes code.
  • Bolt Cloud. Bolt Database, publishing to a live website, and connecting a domain you already own.
  • Templates. A marketplace of free, copyable example projects.
  • Build in steps. The guidance is to finish and test each layer before starting the next, and to keep context small for faster, more accurate responses.
  • Code view. On the free plan, once the daily token cap is hit you can still edit existing code for free.

Pricing side by side

Prices are as of November 2026. Check the live pages before paying: Lovable’s plans and Bolt’s plans.

Lovable

  • Free: 5 daily build credits (30 a month at most), 20 Cloud credits a month.
  • Pro: from $25 a month for 100 credits, or $250 a year (about $21 a month). Tiers rise to 10,000 credits; 200 credits is $50, 400 is $100.
  • Business: from $50 a month for 100 credits.
  • Enterprise: volume-based, set by contract.
  • Annual billing equals two months free. Unlimited members on all plans, because pricing follows credits, not seats.
  • Monthly plan credits expire two months after issue; top-ups last twelve months.

Bolt.new

  • Free: $0, 1M tokens a month with a 300K daily cap; Bolt branding on websites; free tokens do not roll over.
  • Pro: $25 a month, from 10M tokens, no daily limit, custom domains and no Bolt branding.
  • Teams: $30 per member a month; each paid member gets their own allowance, which is not shared.
  • Enterprise: custom pricing.
  • Yearly billing saves up to 28%; yearly prices are not shown on the pricing page.
  • Unused monthly tokens on paid plans roll over for two months.

Both bills can grow with use. Bolt notes that larger projects use more tokens per message, because most usage comes from reading and syncing project files. Lovable’s page gives no figure for how many credits a typical app costs, so neither tool lets you predict a final bill from the price list alone.

Head-to-head

Free tier. Bolt’s 1M monthly tokens (300K a day) are a bigger sandbox to experiment in, though the daily cap can stop you mid-session. Lovable’s free plan gives 5 build credits a day, so it suits short sessions.

Predictability. Lovable’s credit tiers are published up to 10,000 a month, which makes planning a team budget simple. Bolt’s Pro starts at 10M tokens but the pricing page does not list the higher tiers.

Team use. Lovable prices by credits and allows unlimited members. Bolt charges per member and gives each their own tokens. A large team sharing one pool favours Lovable; individual allowances favour Bolt.

Code ownership. Lovable documents sync to three Git hosts. Bolt’s help centre covers version control and history; check its pages for the Git hosts it supports.

Which to choose

  • Trying an idea for free: Bolt.new, for the larger free allowance.
  • A shared workspace with several people: Lovable, because seats are not priced.
  • Enterprise security needs: Lovable lists SSO, SCIM and audit logs; Bolt’s Enterprise plan lists SSO, audit logs and compliance support. Ask both for details.
  • Presentations as well as apps: Bolt, through Bolt Slides.
